About Chickerell Library

Chickerell Community Library started in 2013 after the county was going to close it along with 19 others. Volunteers got together and saved it. The county provides the system and equipment but the volunteers run the library.

The library will be closed tomorrow due to the icy conditions and the usual coffee morning will be postponed until next Saturday 11th March, look forward to seeing you all then.

Colour and Chat

our group will be meeting on Tuesday the 20th at 2pm at chickerell library. Colouring  books and materials supplied. Join us for a natter and a cuppa. Dues £1

On Thursday 7th December the mayor of Chickerell will switch on the lights on the Christmas tree. This will be followed by carol singing led by the Brass Tacks band and the Rising Stars choir from Chickerell Primary Academy. There will be refreshments served in the library afterwards. You will, no doubt, be aware that we have suffered quite a lot of anti social behaviour over the last month or so. A new CCTV system has been installed by Chickerell Town Council and we have had the WiFi switched off outside of our opening times. These measures should help deter any future problems. [...]

Our next coffee morning will be on the 4th November from 10 til 12. Some of the children that completed the Summer Reading Challenge will be receiving their certificates and the winner of the Colour a Wellie Boot competition will be claiming the prize. Do come along and meet them.

Defibrillator.

You will, no doubt, have noticed that a defibrillator has been fitted to the front wall of the library. It does stand out doesn't it!
